7 Matches That Must Happen At WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

4. Ronda Rousey Vs. Bayley

This match is obviously dependent on Rousey actually signing with WWE and winning the inaugural women’s Royal Rumble. The latest reports suggest that this is going to be the case, and many are predicting that the big women’s match at WrestleMania will see Rousey take on Asuka. That is clearly the biggest money match available to the company, on the female side of things at least.

So lets say Rousey wins the Royal Rumble, punching her ticket for WrestleMania 34. WWE will surely be keen on ‘Rowdy’ getting a few singles matches under her belt before the Show of Shows, so expect her to be forced to put that title shot on the line at Elimination Chamber. The bigger question pertains to her opponent.

Before Paige’s latest tragic turn, the leader of Absolution would have made sense in this spot. With her out of the equation, the rest of the Women’s division needs to step up. Sasha Banks, Nia Jax and Bayley are the next three taxis on the rank, and I’d say that the latter is the likeliest opponent here.

Rousey vs. Jax would be fascinating, but Nia is still too reckless for such an important position. Sasha is another option, but The Boss vs. Rowdy could be a big match further down the line. All of which leaves Bayley, the safest worker out of the three and someone who needs a serious reboot. This could be the vehicle to turn The Hugger heel, although that still seems like a ridiculous proposition.

Whoever the opponent ends up being is somewhat irrelevant, as Rousey will get the the win regardless. Asuka vs. Ronday Rousey will be the RAW Women’s Championship match at WrestleMania 34.
