7 Men The Undertaker Should Have Faced At WrestleMania 31

6. Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns is involved in a big feud with Evolution right now, and appears poised to possibly become WWE€™s next big star. While he€™s firmly established as a babyface at the moment, a match with The Undertaker at next year€™s WrestleMania could still have been a huge boost for his career. Reigns wouldn€™t even have had to win his match with Taker. In fact, if he did, fans may have resented him for it in the future because of their love for The Streak. Since he€™s most likely going to be a face for some time, that would have been a bad move. What Taker could have done, though, is have a long, hard fought match with Reigns, and in the end he raises his arm in respect. That simple gesture helped out Jeff Hardy€™s standing in the eyes of fans when he did it for him over a decade ago in their ladder match. After Mania 31, Taker could retire and say Reigns is clearly the future, and he couldn€™t possibly continue to compete with someone like that. WWE would have a new star. The past few years, Undertaker hasn€™t really put over a young guy on the microphone. Sure, he built up Shawn Michaels and Triple H for their WrestleMania matches, but he didn€™t do much for CM Punk or Brock Lesnar. A big part of that is probably because they were solidly cast as heels. However, there€™s no one in WWE that fans respect more than The Dead Man. If he gives someone his seal of approval, it€™s going to mean something. Reigns (and every other deserving wrestler on the roster) looks like they won€™t be getting his respect on-air anytime soon. It€™s too bad that he wasn€™t able to even verbally put someone over on the way out, as a potential future star in the company like Reigns could have used the boost.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
