7 Men The Undertaker Should Have Faced At WrestleMania 31

1. John Cena

WWE seems to have gambled by waiting to deliver John Cena vs. The Undertaker and has now lost. Maybe last year would have been the year to do it. They could have held off Rock vs. CM Punk for WrestleMania, and delivered Cena vs. Taker instead. This year also would have worked with the two having a huge Mania XXX main event in New Orleans. Part of the problem of The Streak ending is that While Brock Lesnar did end it, no one actually believed he was going to do it. The build was so poor that it seemed obvious that Taker would prevail once again. However, fans would have believed that Cena had a chance, which would have created far more interest heading into the match. He€™s the face of the company, and unlike Lesnar he€™s around full-time. He€™s also pushed as a superhero who is booked as incredibly dominant. He is rarely pinned cleanly, so there would be great intrigue in wondering if Taker could do it. The two did wrestle back when Cena was a young heel, but never had a big program when Cena become the biggest star in the business. That just seems like a glaring hole in both of their careers. Could Cena have been able to put away The Undertaker with a simple Attitude Adjustment or two? We will most likely never know. That seems like a lot of money to be made that's just gone forever, and a huge moment we'll never see.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
