7 Minor Changes That Would Make A Big Difference To WWE Elimination Chamber 2018

5. A Gimmick To The Woken Battle

Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt are scheduled to do battle at the pay-per-view, in an ordinary singles match that screams ‘CARD FILLER’ and is entirely deserving of all those caps. Has any gimmick fallen away as quickly in recent memory as ‘Woken’ Matt Hardy? Fans across the world clamoured for Matt to be broken for months, only for the entire thing to fall flat on its face.

There is time for it to come good of course, but yet another singles match with Bray Wyatt isn’t going to help. The Eater of Worlds is 2-0 up against MH V3.0; what justification is there for a third match? ‘Laughing at each other a lot’ isn’t vindication for a battle on a big event.

If the match has to happen, it would absolutely be better if some sort of gimmick was included. Matt and Bray haven’t exactly blown fans away with their plodding affairs to date, and allowing them to roam the arena or pull out some extra magic tricks is the only hope WWE has in adding spice to the rivalry. A Falls Count Anywhere match would fit the bill.
