7 Mistakes WWE Have Already Made With The Shield’s Reunion

5. Roman Reigns Dismissing The Idea On Television

Perhaps the problem lies less with The Miz comparing his cronies to The Shield and more with the fact that Roman Reigns is the only thing stopping the band from getting back together. WWE are banking on the idea of fans clamouring to see Reigns realign with Ambrose and Rollins. That could work, if people actually liked Roman.

The Roman Reigns of 2017 is a far cry from the quiet, smouldering menace who stalked opponents before unleashing a powerful roar and Powerbombing hapless victims through tables. Several years ago, Reigns was cool, but he's now anything but. The creative team's awkward attempts to turn him into a smart-talking good guy has seen to that.

Roman's mantra when pressed on what Ambrose and Rollins are doing has been dismissive. Almost laughing when asked about a Shield reunion, Reigns has repeatedly palmed off suggestions that it'd be a good idea. He's big-timing his old friends whilst claiming to have more important business, and that hardly puts across the group's importance.
