7 Mistakes WWE Have Already Made With The Shield’s Reunion

2. Using The Trademark Hand Gesture So Soon

The live crowd responded in a big way when Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins performed the trademark Shield hand gesture on the 14 August episode of Raw. As good as the reaction was, it poses a problem. That was the pop WWE should have manufactured for a full reunion, not for Ambrose and Rollins finally putting their issues behind them.

Dean went from not trusting Seth one week to acting like nothing had happened the next. It was too sudden, almost like WWE realised they needed something that would placate fans in the short term. Such booking rarely helps out the long term, and that's been the case here. The signature pose should have been teased until Roman Reigns was part of the equation.

Again, without all of the members present this isn't The Shield. If that was the reaction to Ambrose and Rollins reuniting, then just imagine how loud people would've been had all three ex-members been involved. WWE gave away one of the biggest moments of the reunion just for the sake of building towards a Tag Title match.
