7 Mistakes WWE Will Probably Make With The Draft This Week
4. Roman Reigns Is Picked Too Soon...
One man who won't be on Raw or Smackdown this week is Roman Reigns. The three-time WWE Champion was suspended just after Money in the Bank, and he won't be eligible to return until Thursday. That means that he'll make his main-event match at Battleground, but he won't be there for the draft.
Still, anyone who's watched Raw in Roman's absence knows that the company hasn't let a little thing like him not being there stop them from putting him over. Seth Rollins has been crowing about Reigns incessantly over the past few weeks, with the company hoping he'll take some of the heat Reigns is undoubtedly going to have upon his return.
They're doing their best to protect "The Guy", even in absentia.
Part and parcel of that protection is that Reigns is going to get a great pick in the draft. Originally, it was rumored that he'd be the 1A pick, anchoring Raw, and John Cena would be 1B, going to Smackdown. While it is possible that resentment over Reigns's Wellness Policy violation could prevent him from going first overall, odds are cooler heads will prevail and the company will stick with its years-in-the-making plan.
Expect Reigns to be one of the first two men selected.
