7 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (June 30)

5. N WORD CITY!

LaVar Ball

Pushy parent LaVar Ball is apparently a big thing in America, and was thus written onto Monday Night RAW this week because it was held in LA and his son is going to be a big basketball star. That's the level of comprehension most outside of the U.S. possess on the matter. His appearance really didn't do much to clear that up.

LaVar ran into the ring for his Miz TV segment like an absolute goon, his arms jutted out like a T-Rex, not giving the faintest whiff of a sh*t about the whole thing. Michael Cole put his son LaMelo over in a one-and-done appearance with more gusto than he did virtually everybody else on the show. He's the less famous son, too. LaVar drew mild boos from his hometown crowd because he got in the way of wrestling. But WWE isn't a wrestling company, so that's alright.

After exchanging typically lame scripted barbs with Miz - "now we know what it stands for - Mizinterpreted zone! (what?) - LaVar took his shirt off and feigned some sort of convulsive fit. It was then that he indulged in a spot of karate posturing. This was as bad as it reads, exponentially worse than Bayley: This Is Your Life. There was a purity to that. It tried to be a wrestling segment. This was an outsider spreading his cheeks and taking a giant sh*t all over the business. WWE, sadly, love to open their mouths to this sort of thing.

LaMelo then dropped the N bomb, and it was almost fitting. WWE literally invited this PR furore unto themselves.

This sort of desperate celebrity endorsement is just something WWE does from time to time. At least we're no longer in the Guest Host era of RAW, in which we were subject to this inanity.

No, in 2017, we're getting it twice per week.
