7 Most Insane Things Happening In Wrestling Right Now (March 17)

1. WWE Has Plagiarised Friends

In the episode of Friends "The One With The Girl From Poughkeepsie", Monica, borrowing inspiration from Orson Welles, hired Joey as a waiter just to fire him in a power play. This being a sitcom, Joey didn't follow the plan, until his heart of gold compelled him to belatedly comply with it. As Monica received yet more ridicule from her staff, Joey stepped up, telling Monica that he did have a problem with her after all.

"What are you gonna do?" Joey asked. "Fire me?"

"You're d*mn right I'm gonna fire you," Monica responded. The two friends then made up and continued their struggles as white twenty-somethings living in the young adult dreamland of Manhattan, New York.

On this week's episode of SmackDown, AJ Styles laid waste to his onscreen boss, Shane McMahon, and drove his head through a car windshield. Styles then ran into his other onscreen boss (why have none, when you can have two?), Daniel Bryan, who attempted to read him the riot act.

"What are you gonna do?" Styles asked. "Fire me?"

"You're d*mn right I'm gonna fire you," Bryan responded.

WWE has long since hired ex (read: failed) screenwriters from the world of film and television, and it now appears as though the creative bods are just going to plagiarise television shows wholesale - though, to be fair, Stephanie McMahon has played the role of Janice Soprano for some time now, so the development is nothing new.
