7 Most Successful WWE Superstars To Ever Step Foot In Hell In A Cell

3. Shawn Michaels

Michaels did indeed match Orton€™s tally of three wins, but the Heartbreak Kid unsurprisingly did so in just four attempts to place him a spot ahead of the Viper. As HBK reminded us on Raw this week, he was in fact involved in the first ever Hell in a Cell match, defeating The Undertaker to become number one contender after the dramatic emergence of Kane. It would be seven years before he returned to this match, eventually doing so in a losing effort to Triple H in what remains the longest ever Cell match at a whopping 47 minutes and 26 seconds. He would go on to patch things up with the Cerebral Assassin though, reforming D-Generation X and picking up two wins inside Hell in a Cell off the back of it. The first was against the unusual team of Vince McMahon, his son Shane, and the Big Show, with the second versus Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase of Legacy, in what was the official debut of the taller, €œamplified€ Cell. On top of that, Michaels actually has a bonus appearance at Hell in a Cell to add to the mix, having been named the guest referee in Randy Orton€™s 2013 victory over Daniel Bryan. Typically, that would necessitate Shawn taking something of a backseat role and letting Orton and Bryan have the spotlight. But living up to his Showstopper moniker, Michaels weighed in with a Sweet Chin Music to Daniel Bryan to ensure he left a mark on proceedings. Classic Shawn.
