7. Cyndi Lauper
WWE.comOver the last five years, WWE has inducted one "celebrity wing" inductee a year, ranging from the likes of legendary announcer Bob Uecker to Mr T. One celebrity that is missing from the Hall Of Fame to this point is musician Cyndi Lauper. A large part of the success of WrestleMania is due to her popularity in the 1980s, and the fact that she attached her name to the event meant a lot in the entertainment world. People made sure to watch WrestleMania, and they probably wouldn't have even thought about watching wrestling otherwise. Of course, this wasn't the first time that Lauper and the WWF had done business together, as Lauper and Captain Lou Albano had worked in music videos and been involved in a storyline years prior, as well as Lauper featuring numerous WWF wrestlers in some of her other music videos. Without the "Rock-N-Wrestling" movement, it could be said that WrestleMania might not have been as big a success, which literally would have changed
everything for Vince McMahon, who basically put his entire reputation on the line for the event. Without Cyndi Lauper, "Rock-N-Wrestling" would not have worked out well. She was the perfect over-the-top, colorful character to crossover into the world of wrestling.
