1. The Rock
WWE.comBefore talking about The Rock, let's address two names that are missing from this list... Sting and Randy Savage Everyone has Sting going into the Hall Of Fame next year, and while that certainly a good possibility, there's still a chance that WWE wants to make some more money with Sting and truly introduce him to a new generation of their fans before inducting him. Being a playable character in WWE 2K15 and giving him a WWE-produced DVD set will help, but he needs to have more in-the-flesh moments in front of the WWE Universe to truly build something with them. Some would say Sting is big enough that he can just be inducted without doing anything for WWE, but if you truly want him to be a headliner, he needs to be known by the majority of the WWE Universe. The product is now catered towards a younger audience, who may not have known much about Sting during his TNA run, let alone when he was with the NWA and WCW in his prime. Realistically, he should be around for something lengthy, whether it's a feud or two if you're going to have him wrestle for you, or something like the speculated General Manager gig if you aren't going to have him wrestle. If he's going to be a part of WWE 2K15, you could have him debut on WWE television in September, both to hype the game and to add "star power" to television when the NFL returns. Give him a year-plus, and then begin the process to induct him as a member of the Class Of 2016. Problem solved. As for Randy Savage, he's in the "has to be seen to be believed" stage, where nobody will
truly believe that he's going to be inducted until they see his name announced on television. He has seemingly been persona non grata for so long, even while Vince McMahon has made up with former enemy after former enemy through the years, that it seems like he will never be inducted while Vince is still around. Things can certainly change, especially with Triple H taking it upon himself to reach out to people like Bruno Sammartino and The Ultimate Warrior to heal the broken relationships they had with the company through the years, but Savage just seems like a special case. It would be great to have his induction happen, but people shouldn't hold their breaths for it. Now, for The Rock... If WrestleMania is going to be in California, it makes sense to have one of Hollywood's biggest stars (even though Hollywood and Santa Clara, the WrestleMania 31 site, are nearly 350 miles apart) headline the Hall Of Fame class. Rock is still a proven draw, and his induction will bring in media and fan attention that nobody else could bring right now, and we've already gone over how much Vince McMahon craves that media attention from non-wrestling outlets. The Rock is one of the biggest names in wrestling history. His Hall Of Fame induction would be a huge deal, and would be treated as such on WWE television. This Hall Of Fame class would also allow for one of the biggest groups of inductors we've seen in a single Hall Of Fame class, as names like "Rowdy" Roddy Piper (Cyndi Lauper), Ric Flair (Wahoo McDaniel), Trish Stratus (Mickie James), Triple H and/or Shawn Michaels (Diesel), and Steve Austin (The Rock) could be there to induct. You might as well make the event even bigger, if possible.
