7 New Directions For WWE After Elimination Chamber 2025
4. Randy Orton Punting KO
Wade Barrett was everyone watching when various security guards stopped Randy Orton from punting Kevin Owens right in the skull. "Now they're getting involved?!". Here's the thing: The "Unsanctioned" stuff stopped as soon as Owens pinned Sami Zayn to win their war of attrition. WWE jurisdiction came back into effect, so GMs like Adam Pearce and Nick Aldis could send extras out to stop Randy from getting his ultimate revenge on KO.
Don't worry, because that's coming at WrestleMania 41.
Orton's comeback was another killer moment from a PLE stacked full of them. He stopped Owens from potentially ending Sami's career, then teased smashing his lights out with a steel chair before going the punt route. This teaser had to happen, but Randy and Kevin can't exactly have some standard type of match at 'Mania. They might need the "Unsanctioned" gimmick too, or be locked in a steel cage. Something ultra-violent, at least.
Randy is just the latest former friend and tag-team partner that KO has turned his back on. Unlike Zayn and Cody Rhodes though, Orton isn't going to let it lie without putting Owens on the shelf for a while too. Let's just say that Kev could be heading for a little time off with his family post-WrestleMania. He'll be on the kayfabe WWE injury list, not the real one.
He's about to take a vicious punt to the head then get carted out in an ambulance. That'd be fitting vengeance for Orton, and it'd bring back that long-dormant evil side to his character. That could come in handy during the traditional post-supershow lull in May, June and July.
