WWE Injury List: Every Injured Wrestler (& When They're Set To Return)
Latest WWE injury news, how those injuries happened and when you'll see stars back on TV.
Injuries suck.
Nobody likes seeing any hardworking pro wrestler go down with one, but they're unfortunately part and parcel of the biz. Truth be told, it's actually slightly surprising that more injuries don't occur considering how many tough matches happen under the WWE banner every single week. That goes to show just how skilled the men and women plying their trade on Raw, SmackDown and NXT are.
Sadly, nobody escapes the injury bug forever. There are always a fair few workers on the shelf nursing injuries that range from mild to sever. Timelines for any returns following those miserable moments are typically uncertain - get used to seeing a whole load of "TBC" chat when it comes to some of the bigger injuries.
Curiously, some early reports suggest that wrestlers won't be out for too long. Then, they're posted missing for many months past predicted comeback dates. That could be a creative decision more than a medical one. Triple H will want to make sure he has a decent enough spot for any returnees before they show back up on screens. Sometimes, as much as it's hard mentally to sit in catering or at home, WWE is only looking out for someone's best interests creatively.
Here's the latest batch of injured stars currently being nursed back to full health. This list is updated constantly with the latest WWE news, and includes details on when/how each injury happened and when wrestlers will be back to their best.
Say a prayer for the following unlucky workers!
Chad Gable (Shoulder Injury)
Bad luck follows friends! Chad Gable suffered a shoulder injury in late-June at exactly the same time as El Grande Americano. However, something miraculous happened after that: Americano stretched to become taller (he'll never be called something terrible like "Shorty G"!), and he's since returned to television.
Meanwhile, the ever reliable Gable hasn't returned to TV. In all seriousness, it's Ludwig Kaiser who is playing the Americano role in Chad's absence. That'll be interesting once Gable is able to launch a comeback, assuming Kaiser is still under the mask and irritating other members of American Made by pretending to be Chad Gable pretending to be a famous luchador.
There's currently no timeline on Chad's return, which is a shame for someone so dependable and talented.
Returning: TBC
Rey Mysterio (Torn Groin)
Reports in mid-to-late June suggested that the iconic Rey Mysterio might return from his groin layoff by SummerSlam. That obviously didn't happen - the 2-night PLE weekender came and went without any sign of Rey. His son Dominik did retain the Intercontinental Title by beating AJ Styles on the second night, but that was the only Mysterio involvement at the 'Slam.
Rey did appear at the Worlds Collide show on 7 June (co-promoted with Mexican outfit AAA), but only in a non-wrestling promo capacity. The 50 year old high-flyer has had numerous injury woes due to wear and tear in more recent years, so it's wise of him to manage his in-ring minutes and properly take care of any strains or tears he gets these days.
Hopefully, Mysterio will bounce back and further extend his remarkable career.
Returning: Imminently.
Liv Morgan (Shoulder Injury)
Liv Morgan was in obvious distress after suffering a painful dislocated shoulder injury during a match with Kairi Sane on the 16 June edition of WWE flagship Raw. That cut the bout short at less than 3 minutes, and it was clear that Liv was in a lot of pain. It wasn't long before news spread that she was looking at up to 6 months on the shelf recovering.
It's worth saying that there was no backstage heat on Sane for the injury. It was an accident, albeit a sore one for Morgan. She also had to give up her Women's Tag-Team Title reign alongside Raquel Rodriguez; Raquel went on to enlist Roxanne Perez as a replacement partner, then the duo lost their belts to Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair at SummerSlam.
Big things will be expected from Liv once she does return early next year.
Returning: January-February 2026.
Kevin Owens (Neck Injury)

Kevin Owens had been on the heel run of a lifetime before announcing that he had to step away and likely undergo neck fusion surgery on the 4 April episode of SmackDown. Emotions were running high as KO revealed that he'd been dealing with this issue for a few months and would have to walk away from a planned WrestleMania 41 clash vs. tag-team partner turned bitter rival Randy Orton.
It's believed that Owens will be on the shelf for anywhere between 6-12 months post-surgery. This was a bummer for WWE, the 'Mania event (Kev vs. Randy was one of the better-built matches) and for KO himself.
Returning: October 2025-April 2026.
Ilja Dragunov (Torn ACL)

Intense workhorse Ilja Dragunov looked to be making some waves on Raw before being shot down with a torn ACL during a house show match vs. old nemesis GUNTHER on 28 September 2024. Early estimates shortly thereafter put Ilja on the injured list for anywhere between 6-9 months.
Getting injured anywhere is a bummer, but doing so on a live event must've been seriously depressing for somebody who had hoped to steal some spotlight for himself heading into 2025. The good news is that Dragunov is reportedly ahead of schedule with his recovery, so he might even return earlier than the estimate below.
Returning: TBC
Apollo Crews (Torn Pec)

Often-overlooked stalwart Apollo Crews was working just his third televised bout since September 2024 when he beat DIY's Johnny Gargano on the 24 January 2025 episode of SmackDown. Unfortunately for Crews, that'll be his last match for a few months at least.
He desperately grasped at his pectoral and shoulder after taking a backstabber from Gargano, and he looked to be in visible pain when bumping after that. Crews won the match, but he immediately visited doctors to find out the extent of the damage to his pec. It was torn, and that'll take a good while to heal up.
Returning: TBC
Noam Dar (Leg Injury)

Meta-Four man Noam Dar said his tendon was ripped clean off the bone when his leg was injured in June 2024. The real crying shame here is that his NXT group were being touted for a possible jump to the main roster. It remains to be seen if Triple H will still be interested in that once Dar makes his comeback.
There's currently no concrete timeline for the laid back Scot's return.
Returning: TBC
Zoey Stark (Knee Injury)
Footage of Zoey Stark suffering a grisly knee injury was hard to watch when it started circulating online in late-May. Starks was struck down by the injury during a Money In The Bank qualifier vs. Kairi Sane and Rhea Ripley on the 19 May Raw. Yes, it is just coincidence that Sane was in there when Liv Morgan and Zoey got hurt.
Who knows what WWE's creative team will have in store for Stark once she's back? Her Pure Fusion Collective tag-team was blitzed by the departures of Sonya Deville (who went first and had been acting as a manager for the squad) and Shayna Baszler.
In truth, Zoey hasn't really found her place on the roster since working as a bodyguard for Trish Stratus several years ago.
Returning: TBC
Elton Prince (Separated Shoulder)
Yes boy? How about no boy instead?! Pretty Deadly's Elton Prince was hammered by a separated shoulder injury in late June, and that's kept him on the sidelines ever since. Or, at least, news on the injury leaked in June - Prince's last match actually came on the 2 May SmackDown.
Flying solo, his tag partner Kit Wilson has worked a few bouts here or there on Speed and Main Event (including a dark match vs. Hikuleo, who has since been renamed Talla Tonga), but nothing substantial.
Kit will be begging for Elton to get healthy and 100% sooner rather than later, because there's no doubt these dudes mean more as a lighthearted duo than they do individually within WWE's system.
Returning: TBC
Tama Tonga (Undisclosed)
You'd have to go back to the 11 April episode of SmackDown for Tama Tonga's latest WWE match. There, he teamed with MFT leader Solo Sikoa vs. LA Knight and Randy Orton. Tama's regular tag partner Tonga Loa has since returned, and he's been joined by debutant Talla Tonga. All the Tongas in WWE, it seems!
Vince McMahon would've had a conniption fit at all of these similar sounding names.
WWE wrote Tama off telly by having Knight smash his hand up on SmackDown. That explained the absence, but there's no word on when he'll be back doing his 'yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah' thing.
