WWE Injury List: Every Injured Wrestler (& When They're Set To Return)

Latest WWE injury news, how those injuries happened and when you'll see stars back on TV.

Triple H

Injuries suck.

Nobody likes seeing any hardworking pro wrestler go down with one, but they're unfortunately part and parcel of the biz. Truth be told, it's actually slightly surprising that more injuries don't occur considering how many tough matches happen under the WWE banner every single week. That goes to show just how skilled the men and women plying their trade on Raw, SmackDown and NXT are.

Sadly, nobody escapes the injury bug forever. There are always a fair few workers on the shelf nursing injuries that range from mild to sever. Timelines for any returns following those miserable moments are typically uncertain - get used to seeing a whole load of "TBC" chat when it comes to some of the bigger injuries.

Curiously, some early reports suggest that wrestlers won't be out for too long. Then, they're posted missing for many months past predicted comeback dates. That could be a creative decision more than a medical one. Triple H will want to make sure he has a decent enough spot for any returnees before they show back up on screens. Sometimes, as much as it's hard mentally to sit in catering or at home, WWE is only looking out for someone's best interests creatively.

Here's the latest batch of injured stars currently being nursed back to full health. This list is updated constantly with the latest WWE news, and includes details on when/how each injury happened and when wrestlers will be back to their best.

Say a prayer for the following unlucky workers!

Bronson Reed (Broken Foot)

Big Bronson Reed suffered a nasty foot injury back at Survivor Series: WarGames in November 2024. Footage of his ankle buckling at an awkward angle wasn't for the squeamish. Reed experienced excruciating pain upon landing a Tsunami splash from the top of the cage mid-WarGames match.

He's since been in good spirits via social media, but that one had to suck. There's an indefinite timeline on his WWE return, but Bronson will almost definitely miss WrestleMania 41 season at least.

Returning: TBC

Ilja Dragunov (Torn ACL)

Intense workhorse Ilja Dragunov looked to be making some waves on Raw before being shot down with a torn ACL during a house show match vs. old nemesis GUNTHER on 28 September 2024. Early estimates shortly thereafter put Ilja on the injured list for anywhere between 6-9 months.

Getting injured anywhere is a bummer, but doing so on a live event must've been seriously depressing for somebody who had hoped to steal some spotlight for himself heading into 2025. The good news is that Dragunov is reportedly ahead of schedule with his recovery, so he might even return earlier than the estimate below.

Returning: March-June 2025

JD McDonagh (Broken Rib/Punctured Lung)

JD McDonagh WWE

That's quite the one-two punch of pain for Judgment Day's JD McDonagh.

He experienced the lethal combo of a broken rib and a punctured lung after colliding with the announce desk during a moonsault spot on the 27 January 2025 episode of Raw. There, McDonagh was teaming with stablemate Dominik Mysterio vs. The War Raiders, but WWE news suggests he won't be wrestling for a good few months.

To his credit, McDonagh took to socials afterwards and allayed fears things were even worse. He also thanked everyone for their concern after seeing the spot gone wrong play out on live TV.

Tyler Bate (Torn Pec)

Tag-teamer Tyler Bate tore his pectoral muscle when working vs. Hank and Tank with New Catch Republic partner Pete Dunne on the 2 July 2024 episode of NXT. Fightful reported that he was due back anytime in mid-January, but Dunne has been working as a singles heel lately in between teasing something with Ludwig Kaiser.

It'll be interesting to see where Tyler fits into that scenario once he returns to TV, but it looks like he's good to go.

Returning: Imminently

Asuka (Knee Injury)

Asuka WWE
WWE

It's unclear exactly when Damage CTRL's Asuka suffered her niggling knee injury, because the veteran later revealed she'd been working through some pain for months before bowing out shortly after Backlash France in May 2024. She's since had successful surgery, but there’s no word on precisely when Asuka will return to action.

Reports in late-January claimed she was ready to go at any time, so it seems WWE's roster will need to get ready for Asuka imminently.

WWE boss Triple H will be hoping it's sooner rather than later. 'The Game' knows how valuable an addition Asuka is to his line up. She's one of the most accomplished workers he has on his books.

Returning: Imminently

Kairi Sane (Arm Injury)

Asuka's regular tag-team partner and pal Kairi Sane was written off TV following the 16 December 2024 Raw. An arm injury was given as the reason, then Sane was spotted wearing a sling. However, she was able to appear for meet and greets during Royal Rumble weekend without it, but didn't appear on the show itself.

Sane also worked out inside the ring before a non-WWE show in Japan’s Korakuen Hall, so it looks like she'll be back shortly. Creative might just be biding their time.

Returning: Imminently

Kiana James (Leg Injury)

Kiana James
WWE

Like with Asuka, it's difficult to decipher exactly when Kiana James suffered her own leg injury. News spread that she was benched in September 2024, but James hadn't worked a match for WWE since June. Early reports at the time said Kiana would be out of commission for "upwards of 6 months".

She'll be looking to jumpstart her main roster career once she's back on screens. A move from NXT to Raw in the 2024 Draft didn't really pan out as everyone hoped, but there's time yet to change that.

Returning: TBC

Apollo Crews (Torn Pec)

Often-overlooked stalwart Apollo Crews was working just his third televised bout since September 2024 when he beat DIY's Johnny Gargano on the 24 January 2025 episode of SmackDown. Unfortunately for Crews, that'll be his last match for a few months at least.

He desperately grasped at his pectoral and shoulder after taking a backstabber from Gargano, and he looked to be in visible pain when bumping after that. Crews won the match, but he immediately visited doctors to find out the extent of the damage to his pec. It was torn, and that'll take a good while to heal up.

Returning: TBC

Tonga Loa (Torn Bicep)

Tonga Loa WWE
WWE.com

New Bloodline member Tonga Loa was another victim of the men's WarGames match at Survivor Series 2024. He suffered a torn bicep during the brawl, and reports after the show said Loa would be out for anywhere up to 8 weeks. Tonga's obviously still not back on TV at time of writing, but he could return anytime.

Loa will likely be useful during the meat of WWE’s power struggle between Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. He'll also come in handy as a regular tag-team partner for Tama Tonga in the doubles division.

Returning: Imminently

Noam Dar (Leg Injury)

Noam Dar Meta Four
WWE.com

Meta-Four man Noam Dar said his tendon was ripped clean off the bone when his leg was injured in June 2024. The real crying shame here is that his NXT group were being touted for a possible jump to the main roster. It remains to be seen if Triple H will still be interested in that once Dar makes his comeback.

There's currently no concrete timeline for the laid back Scot's return.
