Start licking your chops in eager anticipation, because WWE are ready to pull the trigger on AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura. There's still a chance we'll have to wait a while for this one; the NJPW rematch has 'Mania 34 written all over it. Still, the timing does feel more than a little coincidental, and SummerSlam is WWE's next major pay-per-view...

Whether at SummerSlam or WrestleMania (or both, because who wouldn't want to see these guys go at it more than once?), AJ vs. Shinsuke feels like a special match. The crowd's response to both squaring off in St. Louis was one of excitement. People feel like they need to see two of modern wrestling's greatest collide.

WWE wouldn't have penned a confrontation between Styles and Nakamura if they weren't going to give fans what they want. To do so would be foolish, because there was an electric atmosphere when Shinsuke moved that ladder out the way and locked eyes with an old enemy.

This will be a slow-burner.
