7 Notoriously Hated WWE Storylines (That Weren't Actually So Bad)

6. Diamond Dallas Page Becomes A Motivational Speaker

Like many WCW superstars who made the jump to WWE following Vince McMahon's buyout of the company, DDP's transition was not a particularly smooth or fruitful one. Despite being thrust into a feud with The Undertaker right out of the gate, the actual storyline - he stalked The Undertaker's wife as a wife to lure him into a fight - fell flat.

Late in 2001, Page got injured and was forced to sit out for a couple of months. Fortunately, WWE took this opportunity to revamp his gimmick.

And that's not a bad thing. That's....a good thing.

Gone was the creepy, menacing sex offender, and in his place was an incessantly upbeat, cheesy motivational speaker. It was oddly brilliant.

From the top down, DDP just seemed more comfortable in that new role. Not only that, but he was able to interact with a lot more of the roster, providing tons of classic backstage segments. (His banter with Christian was especially awesome.) Though his time was limited in the ring due to his injury, he still became the highlight of many WWE Raw episodes.

A lot of people are down on this angle and the Positively Page gimmick in general because it didn't position him as a major contender, but that's more the fault of his worn down body than an any creative decisions.
