Josh Mathews never really quite hit it out of the park while he was in the WWE. He was always an okay announcer and never really got a big push as the head of a commentary team. It always felt like his voice would get muffled by the other commentators every time. Mike Tenay has been the voice of TNA since the very beginning, so hearing that he would be being removed from the desk got a lot of people questioning the move. However, on the debut episode Josh Mathews showed that he is well deserving of the spot he has been given. He took the reigns, kept Taz under control, and commentated one hell of a show. Tenay has always had a problem showing legit excitement in his voice, something Josh Mathews can do, so it will be exciting hearing more from Josh Mathews as Impact Wrestling continues to steamroll into 2015.
