7 Positives From WWE Royal Rumble 2015 That Shouldn't Be Overlooked

5. Bubba Ray Dudley And Diamond Dallas Page Were Great Surprises

The surprises at the Royal Rumble are always something people get excited. This year there only a few surprises. None of them were Earth shattering and seeing the Boogeyman was groan inducing, but two returns were awesome: Bubba Ray Dudley and Diamond Dallas Page. Bubba Ray was a nice early surprise as the third entrant in the match. The Philly crowd popped for him since it was ECW country and that's where he really made his name nearly 20 years ago. The WWE run was great too, but he's always going to be an ECW original. He was excellent in TNA as Bully Ray for the last few years especially, so it was nice to see him back "home" so to speak. It was disappointing that WWE didn't put D-Von Dudley in the match as well, then have him come in as the #4 or #5 entrant and have them do some of their tag team spots. Doing the Wassup headbutt and 3D with R-Truth just wasn't the same. Bubba's appearance was just a one time thing apparently. He's going to be 44 years old, so maybe WWE will be reluctant to bring him back full time. However, it wouldn't be a bad idea to bring him back for one more run possibly with D-Von just because it would help the tag team division. Regarding DDP, he was one of those surprises that was pretty well known by internet fans. He's in tremendous shape for a 58 year old thanks in part to his DDP Yoga program that has become a great business for him and something he's known for in his post-wrestling career. Seeing him hitting the Diamond Cutter on a bunch of guys was a great sight. The fans loved him. It would be cool to see DDP in WWE's Hall of Fame this year. His good friends Jake Roberts and Scott Hall, both of whom he helped tremendously when they were in need, went into the Hall of Fame last year. WWE should recognize DDP's efforts in the ring and out of the ring by putting him in this year.
