6. The Ascension Looked Dominant As They Should Be
It's fair to say that The Ascension hasn't been that great in the last month. They only wrestled jobber tag teams on the main roster and the fan reaction to them has been underwhelming. Their storyline where they ripped on older tag teams was done as a way to set up Sunday's match against the New Age Outlaws, who are no longer regular wrestlers yet they could still have matches once in a while since they aren't that old yet. It was a case where WWE needed a veteran team to put them over, so they turned to Billy Gunn and Road Dogg since they already work for WWE anyway. The match went exactly as it should have. They got about six minutes, there was a little bit of offense from the Outlaws in the early going, then when Gunn made the hot tag he was on fire, but that was ended quickly as Konnor and Viktor hit the Fall of Man for the win. It was a short, dominant win like it needed to be. What WWE has to do from here is keep the momentum going. They're not going to be a great tag team because they have long matches that are exciting all the time. What they can be is different from the rest. As mentioned with Kidd and Cesaro, it's great to see depth in the WWE tag team division right now.
