This is the best idea of them all. The good news about this one is the series will debut on the WWE Network on October 14th. It's been confirmed. No names have been announced as far as who will be up first, but they definitely have a lot of choices. The format of the show will be interesting, much like it will be for any of the other shows. They could easily dedicate an hour to a rivalry or even more than that by showing clips of matches mixed in with commentary. It's unlikely that they will have nearly two hour sitdown interviews with the guys like they did for Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in their Rivalry DVD from a few years ago, but if we get some insight from the competitors that would be refreshing. Most fans would agree with me that the one rivalry that definitely deserves a lot of attention is Steve Austin vs. The Rock. They had classic battles during the Attitude Era with three of them taking place at WrestleMania. They've done several DVDs chronicling the careers of both men, so they could probably just mix in their taped commentary along with highlights of matches. It would be refreshing to see new material from both guys although that's probably not going to happen. Another rivalry that should be featured is The Undertaker and Shawn MIchaels. They could talk about how they didn't feud until 1997, how they popularized the Hell in a Cell match, how they revived the rivalry ten years later at the 2007 Royal Rumble and then discuss their epic matches at WrestleManias 25 and 26, which was the end of Shawn's career. Imagine if they were sitting side by side talking about these matches? That's the kind of programming WWE Network needs. The WWE Rivals series will be popular because they can cover so many different feuds that have taken place in WWE history. They could run it weekly for years. It's a concept that will work much like WWE Countdown does. Got any ideas for WWE Network shows? Let us know in the comments below.
