7 Reasons Biker Gimmick Was Nearly The Death Of The Undertaker

5. It Ruined His Impressive Look

After an eight-month layoff, Undertaker returned noticeably heavier. He managed to work his way back into shape, but his image woes didn't stop there. Gone was the distinctive jet-black hair and gothic all-black attire, replaced instead by jeans, t-shirts, bandanas and sunglasses. He certainly looked like a biker, but it was a far cry from the Undertaker everybody knew and loved. Admittedly, Taker still looked like a serious ass-kicker - but pro wrestling is always full of guys who look like serious ass-kickers. The Deadman gimmick encapsulated everything unique about Undertaker, whereas the same can't be said of his run as the American Badass. It was an image that could have been adopted by almost any other big guy on the roster. In terms of visual uniqueness, the gimmick change was a definite step back. Undertaker became incredibly generic, and had to rely heavily on his past glories to retain popularity.
