6. A Potential Payday In Boxing

For over a year now, there has been talk of Conor McGregor competing in a different kind of athletic competition, of him leaving the octagon to try his hand at another career. Still a physical one, mind you.

Only, sorry pro wrestling fans, it's not professional wrestling. No, a bigger opportunity awaits McGregor were he ever to try his hand at boxing.

Now, a lot of contractual obligations and legalities would have to be ironed out for this to happen, but for some time now, Floyd "Money" Mayweather has talked about fighting McGregor in a boxing match.

Why? Mystic Mac is, frankly, one of the best strikers in his weight class, at least in MMA. He has incredible movement, pinpoint striking accuracy and surprising power for a fighter in what's considered a "lower" weight class. In fact, having gone up two full weight classes and repeatedly dropped Nate Diaz, his power is even more impressive.

Mayweather, whose nickname is well-earned, may be retired - but he knows a boxing match with McGregor would make him a ton of cash, and given boxing is a very different sport than MMA, he'd also have a clear advantage (read: he could jog away round after round).

On top of that, Amir Khan is also open to fighting McGregor.

So why go to the trouble of convincing Dana White to let you fight in Vince McMahon's ring, when there are tens of millions of dollars, if not more, waiting in the boxing one?
