7 Reasons Conor McGregor Won't Be Joining WWE Any Time Soon

1. One Word: Money

When it comes down to it, Conor McGregor is all about the Benjamins, and we sure don't mean Shelton.

McGregor is in business for himself, and he wants whatever will get him the most cash, period. That's why he took in a base salary of $3 million U.S. to fight Nick Diaz at UFC 202, the highest guaranteed purse in UFC history. When you add in his PPV earnings (he gets a percentage), he could easily be making over $10 million, possibly 15, given the event is ranked in the top five UFC PPVs of all-time.

Now, consider how much the WWE are about to pay him for a one-off appearance, or even a short program. It's not going to be that much. It's not going to be Conor McGregor money, or Brock Lesnar money. Not for what will amount to a guest spot.

When you compare the offers he'll likely get from the UFC, boxing, Hollywood... WWE is way down the list. Could he show up there some day? Well, anything is possible - but don't expect to see him any time soon.
