7 Reasons It's Time For CM Punk To Make His Wrestling Return

4. No One Would Expect It

If CM Punk had returned to wrestling after being away for a few months, no one would have batted an eye. We’d have all written his absence off as a work, or a misunderstanding, or a vacation, then we’d have gone about our days.

If CM Punk returns to wrestling in fifteen years, when he’s completely past his prime, we’d be excited, but we’d all be able to connect the dots. Most would either presume that time had healed old wounds, that Punk had gotten bored of retirement, or that he could use an easy payday, and an appearance at a WWE show would achieve just that.

But if Punk returned now, in a controlled environment, with no fanfare leading up to it, there’d be riots on the streets of Chicago. WWE could milk weeks of television out of speculating why Punk has returned, and what his intentions are, and all the while CM Punk could maintain the illusion that he was in control, and that WWE wasn’t pulling his strings.
