7 Reasons Randy Orton Has Nothing Left To Give WWE

2. Injuries

First, it was news that he had dislocated his shoulder and would require surgery. Now, word comes that Orton is in need of yet another surgical procedure, this time for a neck that has been damaged by years of flat back bumps off of RKOs and superplexes. At only 35, he is in the prime of his life but has been plagued by injuries to his shoulders for his entire career. Add to it a neck injury that could take significant time to recover from, depending on the severity of the injury (Dave Meltzer has speculated Orton could be out for up to a year), and you have a star who has literally given his body to a company for the majority of his adult life and really has nothing else left to prove to them or the fans. With a wealth of young talent on the WWE roster, and injuries mounting for Orton (who is notorious for taking care of his body with stretching and ice packs etc.), the still relatively young star owes WWE nothing. He does not need to be speedy in his recovery, nor does he necessarily have to rush back to television after he is cleared to return to competition. One of the biggest stars of his generation, he could conceivably step back and demand a part-time scheduled that stars like Brock Lesnar and Undertaker currently enjoy. Not only would it allow him to rest his body more, it would also freshen up his character and allow every one of his appearances to mean so much more than they currently do.
