The wider implications of Destination America ditching TNA for ROH are immense; it's a decision which could potentially change the face of modern wrestling. Although nobody is expecting Ring of Honor to immediately challenge the WWE empire, they are well-positioned to build a following as a legitimate alternative. There's no telling what this could lead to a few years down the line. Not only are ROH structurally better-suited to becoming Vince McMahon's next major competitor (thanks to their superior in-ring talent and booking team), they would also represent a much-needed breath of fresh air. They've been around for over a decade now, but the average WWE fan won't be at all familiar with the Ring of Honor product. This new television deal could change everything and provide the wrestling industry with the competitive edge it's craved since the turn of the century. TNA have chugged along for far too long claiming to be a superior alternative, but will ultimately be remembered as a disastrous offshoot of WCW. Although nothing is certain yet, ROH seem to represent the new future of wrestling. It's time to get on board.
