4. There Are No Brits In The Hall Of Fame

We’ve obviously got plenty of Americans, we’ve got Canadians, we’ve got Japanese, and we’ve even got New Zealanders, but to this date there are no inductees from the British Isles. Considering that Britain is one of the biggest wrestling nations in the world in terms of history and popularity this is a shocking fact. An eventual British inductee is inevitable, and Davey Boy Smith should be, and MUST be the first British Hall of Famer.

It’s unquestionable that Davey Boy has had a bigger impact, and left a larger legacy on fans and future wrestlers than any other Brit associated with WWE.

Yes, Steve ‘William’ Regal deserves to be in there, and is doing ground breaking work with NXT and the UK Championship these days. Yes, in more modern years we’ve had Barrett, Harry Smith, Neville and others, but Davey Boy Smith IS the definitive British WWE wrestler.

Other territories and companies have had other Brits shine bright, but in WWE terms, with Davey’s accolades, his mainstream recognition, and what he did for the company in terms of putting it on the map, it would be a travesty if he isn’t honoured with the distinction as the first ever British Hall of Famer.
