7 Reasons Why I Regret Staying Up To Watch WrestleMania 32

2. The Death Of The Wyatt Family

I've written at length on WhatCulture about the criminal booking of Bray Wyatt and his hirsute followers. There have been moments where hope shone through the darkest of clouds, moments when rehabilitation of the Wyatts seemed like a true possibility. When the family eliminated Brock Lesnar from the Royal Rumble, another big stage seemed to be lurking on the horizon.

So what did Wyatt, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan do at WrestleMania? Well, they interrupted the mind-numbingly boring annual Dwayne Johnson Vanity Showcase, only to see themselves get completely emasculated for the final time by Rocky and John Cena. The cherry on the top of this most sour of pies was The Rock defeating Rowan in an impromptu match in only six seconds. Chavo Guerrero must be thrilled.

These are painful words to write for a Bray Wyatt family, but the Wyatt Family is officially dead. They died at the hands of a man who hasn't been a full time professional wrestler in 12 years, helped in part by another guy who is somewhat responsible for their early demise. The fact that this came as the show itself reached its apex in terms of boredom didn't help.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
