7 Reasons Why The Shield Must Not Reunite At WWE TLC 2017

6. TLC Is A B-Level PPV

WWE played a dangerous game at No Mercy. Roman Reigns vs. John Cena and Braun Strowman vs. Brock Lesnar were two bouts that could've headlined WrestleMania, yet the company threw them away on a B-level pay-per-view. Both felt anticlimactic as a result, and while they'd have unquestionably been booked with more care on 'The Granddaddy Of Them All,' it's impossible to escape the feeling that WWE have needlessly wasted two money-making bouts.

Sadly, they'll be doing the exact same thing if The Shield's reunion takes place at TLC, which might be one of WWE's most iconic gimmick matches, but remains a second-rate PPV.

The trio's reconciliation demands a huge stage. Perhaps not 'Mania, as all three will likely have big singles matches, but any other "big four" event. Otherwise, we'll end up in a situation just like No Mercy, where the moment itself doesn't feel anywhere near as special as it should have, and will eventually be lost to time. It'll become throwaway when it ought to go down as one of the year's most memorable occasions, and something that fans will reference for years to come.
