7 Reasons Why The Shield Must Not Reunite At WWE TLC 2017

5. It Diminishes The Tag Titles

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose haven't been Raw Tag Team Champions for long, but they've done a great job with the belts. The gold feels more important for being around their waists, and they'll hopefully be granted a long, successful run, defending the straps against a wide variety of different opponents every other week.

A Shield reunion match almost certainly means that the tag titles wouldn't feature on the PPV in question, unless WWE go down the route of putting them on the line in a trios bout, which seems unlikely. After doing all this work to restore the belts' prestige, the company would be tearing it all the way down again, and they can't afford to let that happen.

It might be worth sacrificing a tag title match for a big Shield reunion, but not on this particular PPV, and definitely not on such short notice. The belts' lack of focus was one of the main reasons they became so lowly in the first place. Relegating them will drag them back to that level, and given how neglected the Intercontinental Title was around Ambrose's waist earlier in the year, this is the last thing WWE should be thinking about.
