7 Reasons Why The Shield Must Not Reunite At WWE TLC 2017

3. It's STILL Too Soon

It has been over three years since Seth Rollins stabbed his brothers in the back. 'The Architect' committed his shocking act of treachery on a June 2014 episode of Raw, destroying Ambrose and Reigns with a steel chair, before rushing into The Authority's cold, corporate embrace, then diving into a lengthy feud with 'The Lunatic Fringe.'

This should be a long enough time to give a much-loved group the reunion treatment, but it isn't. The trio have continually worked together throughout this period, meaning that there's nothing fresh, new, or exciting about a potential reunion, particularly if it happens as soon as TLC.

Rollins has feuded with both Ambrose and Reigns during this time, but they've crossed paths in a number of other ways too. Dean and Roman have teamed together on several occasions since the split: the trio worked a huge Triple Threat at Battleground 2016, and they pulled off a Shield triple powerbomb at Survivor Series that November. There have been periods where they haven't appeared together at all, but it always seems like the three are within touching distance of each other, which diminishes from the reunion's appeal.

Patience is key. If WWE held off in this for another year, the moment would feel a lot more significant, but when has this company ever been known for taking their time?
