7 Reasons Why The Shield Must Not Reunite At WWE TLC 2017
4. Dean & Seth Are On A Roll
While booking a full-on Shield reunion is extremely problematic, WWE have done an outstanding job with the ongoing Dean Ambrose/Seth Rollins storyline, and it has completely rejuvenated both performers.
It has been a long time since either man was as interesting as they are at the moment. Dean's initial reservations at reuniting with his traitorous former Shield brother, their big Raw Tag Team Title win, their consistently excellent pay-per-view matches: everything has been executed to perfection, and while both will always be popular, they're now hotter than they've been in years.
So why risk jeopardising that for the sake of reuniting The Shield? One of WWE's greatest flaws has always been their inability to either keep a good thing from fading away, or derailing it entirely with hair-brained creative decisions. That's what they'd risk doing by adding Reigns to the equation.
That's not to say Roman's involvement would definitely harm the Rollins/Ambrose story, but inserting him feels needless, even if it's only for a single PPV. The company would be wise to let their tag run continue on its current path, then see where they are 3-4 months from now before they even think about shoehorning Reigns back in.
