7 Reasons Why WWE Hot-Shotting The Raw Women's Title Is Good For Business
4. The Others Aren't Ready
Looking beyond Bayley, things are even more troublesome. Summer Rae and Paige are currently inactive through injury and suspension, which leaves Alicia Fox, Nia Jax, and Dana Brooke on the table, none of whom are even close to being ready for a contender’s run.
Dana has visibly struggled to adapt to main roster television since her NXT call-up. She’s sloppy in the ring, uncomfortable on the microphone, and reeks of somebody who was pulled from developmental long before she was ready. The same can be said for Nia Jax, who is gradually finding her feet as Raw’s resident female monster, but still has a long way to go before she can match a Kharma or Bull Nakano.
Fox, meanwhile, is never been anything more than a lower-midcard player, and nothing’s going to change that. She’s fine in that role, and the division needs a few lesser stars to help prop the major players up, but her presence only highlights the division’s shallowness. Finally, Emma will feature extensively after returning, but she still hasn’t made her re-debut as Emmalina.
Charlotte vs. Sasha might seem endless, but there’s a real lack of options beneath them. This makes it incredibly difficult to look beyond them as the division’s focal point, and until WWE can address this problem, their feud shall remain in the spotlight.
