7 Reasons WWE Might Cancel NXT

4. Vince McMahon Isn't A Fan

The impression given in the media is obviously rosy, with Triple H claiming that Vince McMahon is 'proud' of the work done with NXT among other positive platitudes. This is predictable to say the least, as no company worth its salt is likely to come out and openly discuss inner company tension regarding one of that company's products.

Even so, word on the street (aka the internet) is that Vince McMahon isn't overly fond of NXT. The cracks are visible to those who are willing to squint their eyes tightly enough to see what they want, but reportedly Vince hasn't been happy with Hunter's attempts to juggle being an on-screen villain on the one hand and darling hero of the people's promotion on the other.

This explains NXT TakeOver: Dallas not opening with the usual Triple H centre of the ring spiel.

Reports suggest that Vince sees NXT only as a touring brand full of guys he sees no money in, and if Vince McMahon doesn't see money in you then your chances of long and grand success in WWE become fairly limited. How long will Vince be willing to finance what could just be a vanity project for his son-in-law?

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
