7 Reasons WWE Might Cancel NXT

5. It Doesn't Make Any Money

Whilst we're on the subject of the brand and the boots that have grown around its feet, the talent working in NXT can acceptably view themselves as being a part of their own entity. The TakeOver specials have frequently been better than the WWE PPVs at the same time, including both shows run at the same time as WrestleMania and SummerSlam, WWE's two biggest shows of the year.

With this comes rumblings from talent regarding the money made by NXT talents, with many unhappy that the increase in gates for the TakeOver specials hasn't seen an equivalent growth in money made by the talent made by down there.

Well, by all accounts, it doesn't seem as if NXT makes any money. Neither should it, in truth, if it is indeed a developmental brand. It is an investment in the future of WWE, nothing more. But if fans and talent alike are viewing it as its own brand then the bottom line comes into play, and all reports suggest that NXT is still running at a loss.

Vince McMahon is not a fan of things running at a loss.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
