7 Reasons Why WWE Money In The Bank 2011 Won't Be Topped

1. CM Punk Leaving As WWE Champion Was The Most Unique Ending Ever

When a guy wins the WWE Title he usually celebrates in the ring, around the ringside area and then walks to the back. Sometimes it ends a show. Other times it's just a part of the show. After CM Punk won the WWE Title he didn't walk backstage. He left the arena. The story was that his contract was up at the end of the night, so he could do whatever he wanted with the title. McMahon had to protect his company by making sure the title stayed in WWE. It was sort of like the Survivor Series 1997 real life situation with Bret Hart, but this one was pure storyline. Once again, though, we didn't know what was real. Fans really bought into it. McMahon was furious. He jumped on the headset at ringside and called for Money in the Bank winner Alberto Del Rio to cash in the briefcase on Punk. Moments later, Del Rio entered the arena as the crowd chanted for Punk. When Del Rio entered the ring, Punk nailed him with a kick to the head to knock him down. Punk grabbed the WWE Title, blew a goodbye kiss to McMahon and left the building through the crowd. The fans in Chicago cheered as he walked up the aisle with the WWE Title in his hands. McMahon was furious, but the fans didn't care. They celebrated with Punk as he held up the WWE Title with his people of Chicago and walked out of the building as the new WWE Champion. The business felt hot again. Punk's "best in the world" shirt was one of the biggest sellers WWE had for a long time. There was a lot of excitement when he showed up again and it was exactly the kind of spark WWE needed at the time after things were pretty stagnant leading up to Money in the Bank. The follow up to this show led to a lot of messed up storylines that frustrated fans, but everything up to and including this show was wrestling perfection. It truly is one of the best WWE shows ever.
