7 Reasons WWE Moving Smackdown Back To Thursdays Is Smart
4. Making It A Live Tuesday Show Wouldn't Be Cost Effective
When WWE entered negotiations for Raw and Smackdown there were rumors out there that suggested that there was a chance that Smackdown could become a show that aired live on Tuesdays. The reason it would be Tuesday is because the roster and production trucks are already on the road on Mondays so it would be the only day that made sense. Following the announcement of WWE Network and the huge money losses that WWE accumulated because of it, the possibility of Smackdown going live on Tuesdays seemed very unlikely. When WWE announced that they were keeping Smackdown on Syfy they made no mention of the possibility although you know how things go on the internet. Somebody must have put that rumor out there to gauge interest more than anything. The problem with doing live Smackdown is that there would be too much live programming on back to back nights especially if there was a PPV on the Sunday too. WWE fans are loyal, but there is such thing as too much of it too.
