7 Reasons WWE Moving Smackdown Back To Thursdays Is Smart

1. It Could Lead To Smackdown Becoming More Of A Must See Show

If you ask WWE fans whether they watch Smackdown live every week it's almost a guarantee that more of them would say no in 2014 compared to 2004. Times have changed. Because of the Friday night timeslot, the viewing pattern of WWE fans is different. The big reason for the change is that WWE killed the brand extension, which has made Smackdown feel like more of a "B" show than ever. That's because there is really anything huge that happens on it. In early 2013 there was a World Title change with Alberto Del Rio winning it from Big Show, but that was over 18 months ago. For the most part, major happenings don't take place on Smackdown. In order for WWE to change the lack of major events, they needed to do something different. Keeping the show on Friday wouldn't feel like a change. At least a move to Thursday is a sign that could mean that we're in store for something different. A new night for Smackdown would do wonders for it. There aren't many other things they could do to give it a spark, so that's why it should happen.
