7 Reasons WWE Payback PPV Has Died A Slow Death

5. None Of The Title Matches Feel Important

While it's nice to see at least three titles on the line (and maybe a fourth if the tag titles are there), champions like Barrett, Sheamus and Paige all won their titles recently so there is little expectation that they will lose. Maybe The Usos will lose to Rowan & Harper team, but that wouldn't be smart because The Usos are a popular team right now. A well booked midcard title feud can go a long way to building up interest in a show. Cesaro's a strong challenger because he has a lot of credibility following WrestleMania 30 and his match with Sheamus could be great. However, what if they don't get enough time? They deserve 15-20 minutes. If they get that it could be match of the night. Alicia Fox has really started to get noticed as a crazy heel diva. It's so rare to see WWE actually give character development to a diva that she's being praised simply for acting crazy. Rob Van Dam is coming in very flat and uninspired as a challenger. On the plus side, at least WWE actually remembered to book champions in PPV matches. It's better than what they did at WrestleMania.
