7 Reasons WWE Payback PPV Has Died A Slow Death

3. No WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

This one is out of WWE's hands because Daniel Bryan got hurt, but it's a bad sign when a promo with the WWE Champion is what is being advertised. Are we really supposed to care if Bryan's wife Brie Bella is fired considering she's barely on the show, firing angles rarely last and nobody believes it anyway? Firing angles are a waste of time. Since they are likely going to prolong the storyline with Bryan, it's likely a situation where he's going to end up keeping the title and he'll be healthy enough to defend it by Money in the Bank on June 29. In other words, nothing is likely going to happen at Payback, which again hurts the quality of the show. People that bought WWE Network for PPVs are likely not thrilled that part of their money is going towards a promo that could just have easily taken place on Raw.
