When WWE launched their own subscription service a few years ago, they had some problems with more traditional pay-per-view providers. Those companies were unhappy that the wrestling juggernaut were now offering major events in-house, cutting into their profits. Over time, WWE hoped that this would be a shrewd move, and 'Mania 32 finally fulfilled the Network's potential.

All-in-all, WrestleMania 32 was viewed in 1.82 million different households worldwide on the WWE Network. Keep in mind, that's only on the promotion's streaming model, customers who don't use the Network were still able to purchase via traditional methods. All of this adds together to make the event the most-watched WrestleMania card yet.

As a byproduct of offering a free first month to new subscribers, WWE also collated viewing data for the Network. During WrestleMania week, people watched 21.7 million hours of content on the service, which is up from 15 million last year. That's a 45% increase overall.

It's keeping these customers that will pose the real challenge, but WWE can now boast that 'Mania 32 was watched by more people than any previous iteration of the event in history.
