7 Signs WWE Is Planning A Women's Tag Division
1. Ronda Rousey And Natalya’s Relationship
The first seeds of the on-screen friendship between Ronda Rousey and Natalya were planted before the MMA star’s WWE debut. Rousey herself leaked the fact that she was training with the only female graduate of the famed Hart Dungeon in the lead-up to her appearance at the Royal Rumble. The relationship between the two women has since developed on-screen and is being used to ground the newcomer and to keep her from appearing to the audience as the rookie newcomer, or the outsider. That is, of course, not the only reason WWE has pushed the duo.
Pundits, both then and now, have been assuming that the long-build friendship is destined to end in Nattie’s betrayal, and a meaningful feud for Rousey. While this is almost certainly going to be the case eventually, given the number of pairings we’re starting to see across WWE programming, it seems likely that WWE would want to promote their new titles with their biggest draw before splitting her from her partner.
That, or the heel turn happens, and Rousey starts tagging with fellow UFC horsewoman and likely impending call-up, Shayna Baszler.
