7 Strangest WWE Fandom Trends From The Internet
1. The Prolific Leakers
In the olden days all rumors were spread via insider newsletters known as dirt sheets.
Promotions would even provide their own leaks to drum up interest in their product. Today, Reddit’s squaredcircle forum has largely replaced the dirt sheet. Hooray! Free, 24/7 reliable wrestling leaks for all! Only that reliable part hasn’t happened: many of the most popular “insiders” produce a mixture of truth, bunk and vague predictions.
Here's a run-down of some of the MVPs:
Metsfan4ever
True: Verified former WWE employee. Backstage stories of Vince’s love for snow-cones and Kid Rock.
Bunk: Joked about being Triple H. Broke the news of AJ Lee’s pregnancy during her 2014 honeymoon, despite her not being pregnant. Had his tales of contentious, “talent only” meetings discredited by Cody Rhodes on Twitter.
Status: Inactive, got banned and has since deleted account.
Dolphins1925
True: Dave Meltzer claims to know his identity. Correctly predicted the outcomes of a series of pay-per-views, went 38 for 38 on match predictions.
Bunk: None so far-they remain anonymous but claim to have a source working inside the company.
Status: Active and trying to leak as much information as possible to shame the company into locking down secrets, ensuring a better quality product.
FalconArrow
True: Before the start of Raw on February 22 they posted, "Regardless of whatever trash last night was, watch Raw from beginning to end tonight. You might just get an early Christmas present."
This was right after Fastlane and the night of Shane McMahon's shocking return to WWE. Also leaked or predicted Sami Zayn's main roster debut.
Bunk: It's unclear if FalconArrow was themselves a higher up in the company or simply had a connect who was, or if they were doing the leaks with the knowledge of the company.
Status: By the first week in April the account was deleted 3-4 hours into a reddit Ask Me Anything open questions forum.
