On ITV's World of Sport Special, Davey Boy Smith Jr. reminded us that you should never underestimate the strength of a legacy. Originally fighting under his own name, Harry Smith adopted his father's name Davey Boy a few years back, and has given new life to an old character, but with his own style. Harry Smith wrestles around the world, and receives a big star reception wherever he goes.

Step forward Curtis Axel.

Most people would agree that Axel hasn't quite found his niche in the WWE (Hulk Hogan parody anyone?) We know that his current name pays homage to his father and grandfather - but why not try putting on the yellow, blue, or orange singlet, throwing in the Wrigley's spearmint, picking up a white towel, and breathing new life into one of WWE's greatest characters with his own twist?

It would treat a whole new generation of fans to the iconic Curt Hennig gimmick, would honour a legend, would please older fans, and would give an excuse to resurrect one of Jim Johnston's greatest ever themes (never underestimate the impact of a good theme in the Rumble!).

This could be a one off run, or a genuine new chapter for Axel. Either way, it would make for a great Royal Rumble entrant.
