7 Tag Teams AEW Should Sign
2. Motor City Machine Guns
The two boys from Detroit, Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin sparked a tag team rejuvenation back when TNA was where AEW is now, and may have helped lead to shaping the AEW tag division into what it is as a result.
Alex Shelley has returned from his brief retirement to ROH for their Mass Hysteria show in August. He has since returned to the independent scene on cards with a lot of AEW talent, including his most recent match defeating Joey Janela on 26 September.
Chris Sabin suffered a torn ACL back on 12 January for an ROH television taping. He was scheduled to be out for eight to twelve months, meaning a return to action could be in the near future. He has also commented on Twitter about AEW quite frequently, saying "I'm going to order All Out tonight", "What should I watch on TV tonight?" (on the night of Dynamite's debut), and most recently retweeting a video from Bound For Glory 2010 when they defeated Matt and Nick Jackson (Generation Me in TNA) to retain their titles.
As a team, they failed to beat them in NJPW, for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship in 2016. MCMG then captured their first ROH World Tag Team titles against The Young Bucks in a rematch of sorts in 2017.
Letting them revisit this trilogy in AEW? Take my money.
And MCMG may be joined by the men who took their first ROH tag gold off their waist.
