7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 1990

7. The Bushwhackers In A Long Match Was Never A Good Idea

The Buswhackers were a below average tag team that mostly wrestled in comedy matches on WWE shows in the late 1980s/early 1990s. They faced off with the Rougeau Brothers, who were at the tail end of their run as a team with Ray retiring. You might remember Jacques as The Mountie more than anything. That was about a year after this. This was a brutally bad match. As mentioned, it was done for comedic purposes, but the thing about a comedy match is it should be over within a few minutes. This one clocked in at around 14 minutes and it like an hour because it was so slow. Some people within WWE may have though this match was fun. They were wrong. It was a tremendous waste of time that was hard to watch back then and even harder to do so today. When were kids the Bushwhackers were accepted because the stupid arm waving thing they did was easy for anybody to do. However, when you try to sit through their matches it's just really difficult to do. If this kind of match happened on WWE TV today, fans would turn off the show and spend the next three hours complaining about how bad it was. What a brutal way to start the PPV.
