4. Owen Hart's Promo Was Great With A Memorable Mistake Too

The interview was shown in the arena and a camera shot captured Bret watching it as he was carried to the back. Owen said he thought he had the best partner, but that Bret was too damn selfish. He kept on calling him selfish and that all Bret had to do was tag him. He knew that Bret's leg was bad, but Bret just wanted to put his Sharpshooter on. He also had a classic mistake in the promo: "You're too damn selfish and that's why you're sitting there with a bad leg. And that's why I kicked your leg out of your leg." Kicked your leg out of your leg? Oops. He totally messed up that part of it and it's something that a lot of people remember from the promo. However, if you watch the entirety of the two minute rant it was really good and a huge breakout moment for him. Owen ended the promo saying that he wasn't selfish. He said that this was his chance to win a title in WWE, but he couldn't because Bret was too selfish. There's a point in every big name wrestler's career where you can point to that breakout angle that put them over the top. This was it for Owen. He went from being a midcarder to becoming a top heel that headlined several shows later that year with Bret. Plus, the mistake he made was pretty funny too.
