7 Things You Should Know About WWE Royal Rumble 1995

2. The Only Rumble Match With 60 Second Intervals

Whoever thought it was a good idea to do a Royal Rumble with only 60 second intervals should have to own up for their mistake and apologize right now. It really hurt this match. The beauty of the Rumble is watching 28 guys come running down the ramp and listening to the crowd either cheer or boo them. We want to see those guys face off with rivals or perhaps somebody they have never interacted with. We like the match taking about an hour because it drags things out. This Rumble match was done in 38:41 making it the fastest Rumble ever with at least 30 entrants in the match. There was no time for guys to really establish a presence in the match. Any time somebody looked like they were getting momentum was ruined because somebody else was entering the match. It also seemed to tire out the crowd although that could have been due to the lack of great talent in the match. Thankfully this is the only Rumble match that had 60 second intervals. In future years they went back to the traditional two minutes before settling on 90 seconds, which is more acceptable of a time between entrants.
