7 Things Lucha Underground Got Wrong In Season 2

5. What Are They Doing With King Cuerno?

King Cuerno is the most continually under-appreciated and underrated wrestler on the entire Lucha Underground roster. His in-ring work has been faultless throughout, and his character work is so very on-point that it beggars belief that his role in the show isn't bigger.

Season two started well for Cuerno, with the hunter winning the Gift of the Gods Championship from Fenix in the very first match of the season. He defended the title against Killshot before coming up short against Fenix in an excellent ladder match for the title.

From then on, Cuerno just sort of milled around the Temple doing a whole lot of nothing. Cuerno ended up against Mil Muertes in a Death Match at Ultima Lucha Dos, and whilst the match itself was fantastic it felt a lot like Brock Lesnar vs. Dean Ambrose at WrestleMania 32; big monster beast takes on upper midcard guy with nothing much to do.

Cuerno deserves more.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
