6. There Simply Wasn't Enough Ridiculousness

Wow, this certainly feels like a silly thing to complain about in a professional wrestling show, but then Lucha Underground is no ordinary professional wrestling show. The trailer for season two of the show promised much, with car park nunchuck fights, an army of Pentagons and Prince Puma punching his way through a punching bag.

Season two had its fair share of madness, but there seemed to be something of a lack of total ridiculousness. Once Matanza was out of his cage the whole thing became a little standard in terms of professional wrestling. Focus shifted onto characters like Cage, Johnny Mundo, Jack Evans and others, the humans who had infiltrated the world of lucha.

Now, all of those men are fantastic performers, but season two of LU seemed to lack the other-worldly elements that Drago, Aerostar and others brought to the show. Here's hoping the madness returns in season three.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
